How the radar works, what we store, and why it's different.
Does Tremble store my location?
No. When your device sends GPS coordinates to calculate proximity, the coordinates are converted to a geohash — a geographic cell roughly 75 metres across — in server memory and immediately discarded. We store only the geohash, never the raw coordinates. Bluetooth signal data from Bluetooth and GPS proximity checks is deleted automatically after 10 minutes.
How does Run Club mode work?
If your device detects another Tremble user nearby via Bluetooth and GPS for 5 minutes during a run, Run Club activates automatically. You get a 10-minute match window. No tapping required. Encounter data purges after 10 minutes. After your run, you get a recap — who you crossed paths with, nothing more.
How does Gym Mode work?
Stay within a gym's geofenced area for 10 minutes and Tremble asks if you want to activate Gym Mode. After 15 minutes it starts anyway. DND turns on. You get a quiet list of who's nearby — no alerts, no interruptions. When you leave, a recap appears. Everything clears 20 minutes after you're gone.
What's the difference between Free and Pro radar range?
Free tier uses a 100m radius — GPS geohash pre-filter combined with Bluetooth signal strength ≥ −75 dBm. Pro extends this to 250m by loosening the Bluetooth threshold to ≥ −85 dBm. The GPS geohash layer is required for anything beyond pure Bluetooth range, which maxes out around 30–80m in real-world conditions.
What is Weekend Getaway?
A time-limited access pass to all Pro features. Activates Friday at 19:00 CET, deactivates Sunday at 19:00 CET. No subscription, no automatic renewal. €2.99 per weekend. Useful if you're going out and want full radar range without committing to a monthly plan.
What does the wave mechanic do?
When someone compatible is within range, you see them on the radar. You can send a wave — a single tap. If they send one back, it's a match. You get a 30-minute window to find each other. No chat. No messages. The app steps back the moment the match happens.
What is Pulse Intercept?
After a mutual wave, you can send your phone number or a view-once photo — two buttons, no typing. Phone numbers are transmitted directly and not stored on our servers. View-once photos delete immediately when opened, or after 10 minutes if unopened.
Is Tremble available in my city?
Phase 1 launch covers Ljubljana, Koper, and Zagreb. Proximity apps require a minimum density of active users to work — we're building city by city to make sure the radar is actually useful where you are. Join the waitlist and we'll notify you when your city is live.
